January 15, 2019

Flame Heating Group is setting itself up for continued success in 2019 after making a series of new appointments across its branch network in the North East.

The Boldon-headquartered heating and plumbing merchant has increased its workforce by 10 percent after welcoming six new starters, as well as an internal promotion to a newly-created role.

Lee Baker has joined Flame as Branch Manager of its Newcastle merchant, while Matt Lindley has progressed to the role of contracts manager, having previously worked as product information manager.

Jonathan Stobbs has been appointed as technical support supervisor at Flame’s lead branch in Gateshead, with Ivar Hakansson and Kyle Housby joining as drivers at the company’s Newcastle and South Shield outlets, respectively.

Flame is also investing in the future of its workforce after taking on two accounts apprentices, James Hopkins and Paul Smith, who will be based at the firm’s Boldon head office. Appointments to ‘fan the Flame’ at heating merchant

These latest appointments follow a successful period for the company, which includes an investment in new headquarters in Boldon, and a financing deal with HSBC, which has progressed plans to launch further branches across the UK, as well as more than double Flame’s workforce over the next three years.

Established in 2011, Flame currently operates 11 branches in the North East and Scotland and specialises in heating spares, commercial heating and plumbing, renewable energy and bathrooms. It has delivered year-on-year growth since it was formed by managing director, John Savage.

John Savage said: “2018 was another successful year for the company and these latest, significant appointments are another signal of our intent that will support our continued growth ambitions for 2019 and beyond.

“We are now looking to hit the ground running in the new year, picking up where we left off in 2018. Further job creation and expansion is on the horizon and the senior management team and I are excited by what the future holds for Flame.”
