Polypipe’s new Smart controls, allow customers to adjust the temperature of their underfloor heating system using a smartphone, tablet or touchscreen thermostat.

The controls are compatible with Google Assistant, Apple Homekit and Amazon Alexa meaning that they fit in with systems that customers are already familiar with.

Smart controls used with modern underfloor heating systems are designed to operate more efficiently and save money and energy over the whole life of installation and use.

Polypipe has signed on as principal sponsor of a new all-female competitive cycling academy. The Doncaster-based manufacturer of plastic above and below ground drainage and water management systems will continue its support of developing talented sportspeople by backing the new Racescene Female Development Academy (RFDA) for the 2019 race season.

The RFDA is a Yorkshire-based female youth cycling team for young riders aged 12 to 16, who will be competing in regional and national road and town centre series races throughout 2019. 

The riders will receive expert racing and team management coaching, with access to sports nutritionists and psychologists, as the organisation looks to develop the female talent that can go on to compete in professional events.

Steve Durdant-Hollamby will head up Polypipe Civils, part of the FTSE 250-listed multinational Polypipe Group, the UK’s leading developer of Green Infrastructure and SuDS solutions to the built environment sector.

The 45-year-old, of Cambridgeshire, will also play a major role in the company’s commitment to creating innovative solutions to help to meet the challenges of climate change, a population growth and sustainable urbanisation.

Steve, who has 26 years’ experience in the water management industry, said he was instantly drawn to the “great manufacturing company with a renowned brand.”

Polypipe opens £250,000 underfloor heating training centre

Polypipe, the UK’s leading manufacturer of underfloor heating systems, has officially launched a £250,000 training facility to inspire the next generation of budding heating professionals.

The Doncaster-based firm held the official opening of the state-of-the-art Polypipe Professional Development Centre (PDC) at Kirk Sandall in the town.

The facility features specially-designed training spaces to give trainee and experienced plumbing professionals the opportunity to improve their practical skills. It is set to become one of the UK’s leading training centres for professional heating engineers, installers, plumbers and merchants.
