Smart radiator thermostat set to reduce household heating costs

The Radbot in use

Vestemi, the energy saving technology company, recently announced the launch of its first product, Radbot – a money-saving, easy-to-use, smart radiator thermostat.

Radbot offers householders the ability to heat individual rooms only when needed whilst reducing the temperature in empty rooms, therefore saving energy and money. In fact, recent customer trials have demonstrated impressive average savings of 31 per cent - around £180 - on an average annual heating bill*.

Radbot is incredibly easy to self-install and is operated the same way as a standard, manual heating thermostat. It also doesn’t require internet connectivity, complex programming or a smartphone app.

Why you should get up to speed on underfloor heating

underfloor heating

Over the years, underfloor heating has become a popular addition for the homeowner looking for both luxury and energy-saving benefits.

A study from 2018 revealed underfloor heating was third on the list of the top 10 features that millennials wanted in their dream home. It’s also increasingly popular in the construction industry, particularly for projects that involve converting office spaces into residential properties.

The latest figures show the market for underfloor heating grew by 6% in 2017, with a similar increase predicted for the following year. Energy-efficient insulation materials such as XENERGY Styrofoam have helped drive this growth.

Intergas builds in flue gas heat recovery

Intergas boiler

Intergas launched its range of boilers onto the UK market in 2008 and, since then, more and more installers have been converting to this Dutch manufacturer. And it’s easy to understand why; its ingenious design, featuring the two-in-one heat exchanger, means the components that tend to stick, leak or let you down - like the diverter valve, valve motor, auto air vent and secondary hot water plate heat exchanger - just aren’t there. And the heat exchanger, launched in 1996, has never had a mechanical failure either, so reliability really is built-in.

Pimlico Plumbers - Real Business Column

Charlie Mullins - Pimlico Plumbers- Real Business Column

It’s a sign of the times that the word ‘hustle’ has taken on a fresh and more respectable meaning when it comes to business.

In my day, the hustle was a dance popular in the discotheques (now there IS a word you don’t hear any more!) of my 1970’s youth.

Alternatively, it referred to someone with an ability to take a few quid off you in a game of pool or a geezer knocking out counterfeit videos which, when you got them home, were usually unwatchable.

However, these days many a respected business figure happily put their success down to their hustling spirit.
