City Plumbing wins the Fleet Van Operator of The Year award

On Wednesday 3rd July, City Plumbing, part of the Plumbing and Heating Division of Travis Perkins, s​cooped the Fleet Van Operator of The Year award at the prestigious 2019 Motor Transport Awards, held at London’s ​Grosvenor House Hotel​.

The award ceremony was hosted by TV presenter Claudia Winkleman and the award was given to the City Plumbing Team by comedian Omid Djalili. These awards are the equivalent of the Oscars for the Transport industry!

City Plumbing with 400 employees based in Northampton, beat competition from the likes of Ocado and Scottish Water to win the award which celebrates organisations that are achieving outstanding standards of performance in productivity and efficiency, on time quality deliveries and who promote safe driving through effective training and apprenticeship schemes.

This means that City Plumbing won the award for ensuring our roads are safer by having professional well trained, safer and more considerate drivers that are able to deliver customer orders which arrive on time and in great condition.

The award was given to Richard Horton, Head of Fleet at City Plumbing. Richard stated: City Plumbing team with award

We are a business famous for our customer service. We operate over 700 vehicles across our business centres and managing those is a huge challenge.​ ​We take extra care so that our customers are happy and other road users are as safe as possible.”
