Our eagerly anticipated annual ‘On the Tools Awards’ took place last Friday the 20th October and wow, what a night it was. 2017 is the second year the awards have been held - and it was definitely one to remember.
The awards were conceived by On the Tools to recognise the hard working and dedicated tradespeople that make up the construction industry. Alongside the construction community, the awards also honour construction based companies and construction brands.
The ceremony was held locally at Edgbaston Cricket Ground in Birmingham, the iconic home of Warwickshire County Cricket Club. With a total of 320 attendees the night was a brilliant mix of tradespeople, brands and industry experts. Not only is the awards a celebration of the construction industry but also a great networking opportunity.
The event began with a drinks reception complete with unlimited bubbles, magician and an incredible OTT branded vodka luge for guests to indulge in. Stand up comedian Justin Moorhouse was our brilliant compere throughout the awards, setting the perfect tone for the event, a fantastic three-course meal was served, then followed the awards ceremony where twenty one categories were presented with awards to adulate their commitment and reputation in the industry. Once all awards were presented the night concluded with a live band where guests joined the dance floor with their best moves.
Jewson were our main sponsor for the second year in a row, with other trade specific categories backed by Castle Homes, Wienerberger, Leyland, Norbord, NoviPro, and Milwaukee.
This year Redring sponsored the 'Plumber of the Year' category with Lewis Shaw walking away with the title.
A donation raffle and contributions made on the evening raised £2000 for Band of Builders.
We would like to to thank everybody that helped make the On Tools Awards 2017 possible. A big shout out to all the entrants and the shortlisted nominees. To all of our category winners (http://onthetoolsawards.co.uk/2017-winners), a HUGE congratulations from all of us here at OTT.
