Whirlpool has won a UK Water Efficiency Product Award at the recent Waterwise Awards 2017.
 
The Waterwise UK Water Efficiency Product Awards recognises products and technology that contribute to water efficiency that benefit the economy, society and environment. The esteemed, expert judges considered the extent to which the nominated appliance demonstrated noteworthy achievements such as water savings and changes to water-related attitudes and behaviours.

The ‘Graham Heroes’ Awards look to recognise members of the Graham team for their excellent services to the company, celebrating outstanding workmanship and top-quality customer service. The plumbers’ merchant is looking for help in the ‘Customer Hero’ Award category, with customers invited to name a staff member who they feel has excelled in their role this year.

 

Top business award for North East entrepreneur

John Savage, managing director of Flame Heating Spares, who founded the region’s fastest growing Heating and Plumbing merchant, has claimed a prestigious honour.

The up and coming North East entrepreneur was named the Institute of Directors (IoD) North East Young Director of the Year at the annual IoD Yorkshire & North East awards.

 

Mr Savage, 36, launched Flame Heating Spares with a single branch in Gateshead, in 2011 and the company now operates six branches across the North East and employees more than 20 people. He started his career as a warehousing apprentice for a national plumbing merchant before working his way up to become an area manager, prior to establishing Flame with his business partner and sales director, Gary Riseborough.
